The Secret Festival and Conference on 27 and 28 October is foodie’s dream. Two days jam-packed with food and wine talks, workshops, exhibitions, installations and meals by some of the world’s most famous and exciting food and wine experts. The festival also includes a Saturday food and wine market, where secrets of all kind will be revealed – from secret ingredients and family recipes to South Africa’s best-kept wine secret, Chenin Blanc.
Saturday’s food and wine market is open to both ticket holders and public. In keeping with the secret theme, local suppliers will share their family recipes and secret ingredients. Market vendors include Woolworth’s best-kept secret suppliers, food trucks such as Bertus Basson’s famous Die Wors-rol, The Soft Machine and Spier wine tastings. There will also be lots of games and entertainment for young and old. Entrance is R70 and includes a wine tasting glass with five tasting vouchers (for over 18s), kids under 12 enter free. Tickets are available at Computicket or on the day at the farm.
