Heather Moore has combined her love for Scandinavian design with her roots in Africa to create three new patterns and a selection of fun new summer products.
All Shapes and Sizes
The Pebble, Woodpile and Rough Diamond designs were created while Heather was cutting and sticking simple hand-cut shapes into geometric patterns, whilst experimenting with an iron-on transfer material. She pinned the finished pieces onto her studio corkboard and over a few months realized how much she liked them.
All three designs are available in the existing Skinny laMinx colour range as well as in new summer shades:
- A bold coral red called Lollipop
- A chirpy blue called Sunny Sky
- A dusty black called Inkspot
- A strong umber called Smudge.
The combination of these new prints and colours are what add a sense of the extraordinary to otherwise simple graphic designs.
This summer, Skinny laMinx will be producing the much loved smock dress in a lightweight cotton fabric and will extend the size range to include a smock for 4-5 year olds. These are priced at R195 each.
New melamine trays will be available in three of the new graphic prints, at R245 each. And because Heather found a local manufacturer to work with it means they’re 100% South African.
The vibrant polypropylene placemats are also locally screenprinted in the Rough Diamond design in cheerful Sunny Sky and Lollipop. They are foodsafe and wipe-clean, making them perfect for kiddies’ mealtimes. The placemats sell for R80 each.
Gift wrapping fanatics and keen crafters will be happy to note that Skinny laMinx has extended their paper product offering to include a range of printed tissue paper in the new geometric designs – perfect for Christmas wrapping! A pack of 3 sheets of gift wrap in 3 different designs is R45.
