There lies in the Mother city one of the smallest wine regions, yet perhaps one of the most magical wine regions in South Africa, the Durbanville Wine Region. It is to this evergreen wonder that Cape Town Helicopters is waiting to fly you too. The actual flight which departs at the Cape Town Helicopter base at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront and takes one of the most incredibly scenic trips across Table Bay into the Durbanville Wine Region, will wait for you whilst you enjoy a superb luncheon at one of the three prescribed wine estates or else a wine land of your own choosing, before taking you back across the beautifully awe-inspiring scenery, to safely land at the V & A Waterfront again. The luncheons which are on your own account are prescribed to be enjoyed at one of the following three magnificent estates, but the choice is invariably up to you.

It is amazing to also note that the workers of the nine producer members of the winery as well as the workers from the companies own cellar have shares in the business as well as a seat on the board of directors. The initiative to improve the employees of the surrounding farms live as well as that of their families has seen Durbanville Hills Wine Estate fund projects for school tuition, a creche as well as a life skills program that is run by a full time tutor.

Meerendal Wine Estate

The history of this marvel of a wine estate dates back to 1714, where a woman, the widow of the first owner, Christina Stans planted 60, 000 vines on the green and golden slopes of Meerendal.
