Last night was the launch of The Waiting Room’s Front Row. To give you an idea of what to expect in the weeks to come, the evening kicked off with the cult classic 50s documentary, Kansas City Bomber. There was gluhwein and popcorn, and DJs spinning the very best old school rock n roll, surf rock, swing and all things groovy after the movie.

But don’t despair. For three Wednesdays a month, you’ll get the chance to experience a variety of all things new. Expect to see:

  • films and documentaries
  • video and album launches
  • new bands and DJs
  • workshops
  • fétes and markets
  • exhibitions

Next week, on 30 May, Front Row hosts a Hip Hop Jazz night called “we are over here” featuring a Hip Hop artist from Holland.

The following week, 6 June, sees Donny Truter and Jacques Du Plessis from Mr Cat and the Jackal, followed by an awesome hip-swinging DJ Set.

On 20 June, the Royale Movie club is back, with a movie, popcorn and gluhwein.

27 June sees the launch of a new band in the city, The Future Primitives, who will be screening their new music video as well.

So Front Row is pretty much a variety show, and a platofrm for genres that have a little less light in the city.

Pop on over to Facebook and Like the Front Row page; it’s where you’re going to find all the updates in the weeks ahead.
