The Mother City has an appreciation for those people who love their liquor, whether it be in small or big doses and she accommodates for both very well. The city bowl and its surrounds are scattered with pubs and the locals of Cape Town know the awesome adventure that pub crawling can be. Some individuals appreciate finding their favourite pub that has everything in one place and they don’t really have to lift their buttocks unnecessarily unless when nature calls or home does. The pubs mentioned below are truly some of the most comprehensively ideal spots in Cape Town, if we dare say, the world.
Firemans Arms: Its old with modern style, bold and magnificently brilliant. For a pub lover, packed with everything on tap that you could ever want, big screens inside and out, deliciously epic food that’s served five star style but feels like a real homely feast with all your favourite dishes and more, hitting that spot each and every time. Firemans Arms has a rich history that is displayed in the most exquisite manner on the walls and hanging from the ceilings, it is a truly captivating experience that has made it, without a doubt, Cape Towns number one Pub. They also have a fully packed quiz night with great prizes every Thursday night, so make sure you get there early.

Blue Peter: Its on the beachfront, and its simply put, magnificently breathtaking. The most fantastic thing to do is have a delicious pizza and a sundowner cocktail, of which Blue Peter has quite a large selection of, and watch the incredible sunsents that Cape Town has to offer. It must also be mentioned that the vista seen from Blue Peter has the incredible backdrop of Table Mountain in it and when filling one basket with the great ocean, the awe-inspiring Table Mountain, a sunset thought only to be found in the best of dreams, a delectable cocktail and the beautiful setting and warm vibe of Blue Peter, you get a picnic for the soul to remember always.

Mother’s Ruin: It has a quirky sense of style, granted its all about the love of gin and everything therein, Mother’s Ruin is quaint but quintessential to the gin lover. There is not a gin that Mother’s Ruin do not stock or a concoction of gin melodies that they do not have playing on the menu, however if there is something not mentioned or made, theres a pretty good reason for it, perhaps it is because its not gin. There is always something different happening at Mother’s Ruin, and with their cheeky demeanour its absolutely fantastic.
